Blood Orange‘s Dev Hynes recently played a pair of benefit shows at Harlem’s Apollo Theater. Hynes teamed up with Yours Truly to document the performances, which have now been collected into a special one-hour Beats 1 radio show. The episode, called “Yours Truly, Blood Orange and Friends”, features interviews and song clips from the Apollo shows, as Spin points out. Listen to the episode here.

At the Apollo shows, Hynes performed with Nelly Furtado, with whom Blood Orange released a collaborative cassette, available only at the shows. The Beats 1 episode features the two playing “Hadron Collider” from the cassette. (Listen to it around the 32:20 mark of the stream.) They do Furtado’s “Say It Right” together (34:00 mark), as well.

The episode also collects Hynes’ performance of an unreleased track called “E.V.P” (48:30 mark). It’s a collaboration with the Dutch artist Bea1991. He’s played the track live in the past, and shared its lyrics on his website back in February.

“Yours Truly, Blood Orange and Friends” is not Hynes’ first experience with Beats 1. Earlier this year, he appeared on Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig’s “Time Crisis” show where he talked about Blood Orange’s song “Sandra’s Smile”.
