Animal Collective Launch App Featuring New Song "Lying in the Grass"

Animal Collective release their new album called Painting With on February 19. Today, they released a free app for iOS, which is also called “Painting With.” It’s a collaborative tool that allows you to create an image with someone else in real time, and it features an unreleased song called “Lying in the Grass.” Grab it here. Users are encouraged to share their creations via Twitter or Instagram using the #PaintingWith hashtag. Submissions will be posted on the Animal Collective website. The app also includes a strobe light which animates the turntable slipmat that comes with the deluxe edition LP.
“Lying in the Grass” gets an official, traditional digital release on Monday (February 1).
