100% Silk Artist Nackt Gets Posthumous Vinyl Release

Johnny Igaz, aka Nackt, was a DJ and 100% Silk artist who was killed in the tragic Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland earlier this month. He was 34. Before his death, Igaz and The Nite Owl Diner were prepping a new four-track EP called Night System to be released on vinyl. Now, the EP will be released posthumously on 12” on January 13, Resident Advisor reports. Find the tracklist and the title track below. The EP features collaborations with Jason Kendig and fellow Bay Area artist CM-4. 

Igaz, an active member of Oakland’s music community, was DJing at the Ghost Ship party the night of the fire. According to his press kit, he co-founded the parties Outpost, Rare Form, and Deep East. He appeared on last year’s 100% Silk cassette Virex. Outside of his work for 100% Silk, Igaz’ productions and remixes appeared on the labels Chillin Music, Don’t Say Techno, and 3AM Devices.
