2Pac, Missy Elliott, J. Cole Lyrics to Appear on Sprite Cans

Last year, Sprite launched the “Obey Your Thirst” Lyrical Collection, a range of limited-edition soda cans emblazoned with inspirational lyrics by Drake, Nas, the Notorious B.I.G., and Rakim. Today, the company has announced the second year of the campaign, which will feature lyrics by 2Pac, Missy Elliott, and J. Cole, according to Billboard. They’ll come from Pac’s “Keep Ya Head Up,” “When We Ride,” and “Wake Me When I’m Free,” Missy’s “WTF (Where They From)” and “Hot Boyz,” and Cole’s “Grown Simba” and “Love Yourz.” There will be 16 variants of the cans. Bobby Oliver (director of Sprite & Citrus Brands, Coca-Cola North America) told Billboard, “We wanted to make sure we identified artists who represented our point of view of staying true to yourself, artists who stay true to who they are and what they want to represent.” He also reiterated, like last year, “We wanted lyrics that are inspirational to our core fans, and something that can deliver a positive message.” Check out the new collection here, and see some of the cans below.
