8 Albums Out Today You Should Listen to Now: The Strokes, Whitney, Tegan and Sara, and More

With so much good music being released all the time, it can be hard to determine what to listen to first. Every week, Pitchfork offers a run-down of significant new releases available on streaming services. This week’s batch includes the Strokes, Whitney, Tegan and Sara, Speedy Ortiz, Steve Gunn, the Kills, Classixx, and Ladyhawke.
The Strokes: Future Present Past EP [Cult]

The Strokes’ new Future Present Past EP is the band’s first release since 2013’s Comedown Machine. It features three new songs–“Drag Queen,” “OBLIVIUS,” and “Threat of Joy”–and a remix of “OBLIVIUS,” courtesy of the band’s Fabrizio Moretti. Earlier this week, they performed the EP in its entirety (along with their hits) at the Capitol Theatre in New York.
