A Tribe Called Quest Share New Documentary Detailing Queens Mural Creation: Watch

Earlier this year, a mural dedicated to A Tribe Called Quest was painted on the wall of a laundromat on the corner of Linden Boulevard and 192nd Street in the St. Albans neighborhood of Queens, New York. The wall was the site of their 1991 video for “Check the Rhime.” The street was later named Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor Way in honor of the late Phife Dawg. Today, the group have shared a documentary that details the creation of the mural, via Okayplayer. It includes interviews with the mural organizers, a time-lapse depicting the entire painting process, and reflections on the importance of A Tribe Called Quest on the neighborhood. Watch it below.
