A$AP Mob founder and A$AP Worldwide co-owner A$AP Yams has died, Complex Music reports. His cause of death is unknown. He was 26.

In a 2013 New York Times profile, Yams, born Steven Rodriguez, said “Rocky’s like Luke Skywalker, and I’m Yoda.” Rocky called him “the mastermind behind the scenes,” the “director”, and a “hip-hop encyclopedia”. He was instrumental in helping find the A$AP sound and ran the Mob’s early online presence.

Several artists who knew Yams have reacted to his death:

R.I.P YAMS, I LOVE YOU BROTHER
