AlunaGeorge to Headline Minecraft Concert

AlunaGeorge to Headline Minecraft Concert

Tomorrow, AlunaGeorge are set to headline a first-of-its-kind “concert” taking place inside Minecraft, the popular video game where players create their own worlds out of 3D cubes. As FACT points out, the show is set to take place at the Gathering, an annual tech festival held in Hamar, Norway. As the British duo perform for attendees, a team of artists and volunteers will sync the onstage action to their in-game avatars, mirroring the live experience for players around the world.

Just like in real life, space for the Minecraft show is limited. Erik Heisholt, the executive creative director of Heisholt Inc. (the company that conceptualized the concert,) told The Local Norway that the server will be only able to accommodate between 2000-3000 users. Check out a trailer for the event below (featuring AlunaGeorge’s Popcaan-featuring single “I’m in Control“) below, along with some of the in-game advertisements.
