Animal Collective Hold Private Show for Two Underage Fans in Canada: Watch

On Friday, Animal Collective held a small private concert for a pair of underage fans at Union Hall in Edmonton after the band discovered that the venue would only allow ticketholders aged 18 and up into their show. As Stereogum points out, the band explained on Twitter that they tried to have the show moved to a different venue, but couldn’t find anything that worked. So instead, they had two fans in question—Savanna and Cameron—come early to Union Hall during their soundcheck, and put on a private set for them, lighting and all. Find video from that performance below, as well as Animal Collective’s (adorable) photo with the fans after the show.

Bummed to say we just found out from the venue in Edmonton that they’re unable to get a permit to allow kids under 18 into Fri’s show.

We tried to find another venue but nothing else could work. If you’re under 18 & have tix, refunds are available at point of purchase.
