Aphex Twin Launches Mysterious Countdown

Aphex Twin has launched a countdown on his website leading to Thursday, July 6. It began this past Saturday, the same day Aphex performed at Field Day festival in London, where he sold a mysterious 12″ and, for the first time in his career, live-streamed his set. (The vinyl promptly sold out and appeared on eBay for more than $600.) Aphex Twin’s latest release was the EP Cheetah, in 2016; his last full-length, Syro, came out in 2014. Pitchfork has reached out to Aphex Twin’s representatives for more information.
