Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, Tweedy Set for Mavis Staples Tribute Concert

On November 19, Mavis Staples is being celebrated at a hometown tribute concert called “I’ll Take You There: Celebrating 75 Years of Mavis Staples”. The concert at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre will feature performances from Staples alongside several special guests, including Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, Tweedy, and many others.

Gregg Allman, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Michael McDonald, Eric Church, Widespread Panic, Aaron Neville, Buddy Miller, Keb’ Mo’, Otis Clay, Grace Potter, Joan Osborne, and more are set to perform. Don Was and Buddy Miller will serve as music directors and lead a house band featuring Staples’ longtime guitarist Rick Holmstrom.
