Ariana Grande Releases New Statement On Manchester Attack: “We Won’t Let Hate Win”

After the tragic attack that took place at Ariana Grande’s May 22 concert in Manchester, which left 22 dead and 59 others injured, Grande opened up with a brief statement: “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words,” she wrote. Now, she has shared more thoughts on the event in a full statement, posted to her Twitter account. “There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better,” she said. “However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.” She went on to say, “We will not quit or operate in fear. We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win.” Grande also promised a return to Manchester for a benefit concert “in honor of and to raise money for the victims and their families.” Read the full statement below. In the day following the attack, police confirmed that a lone man using an improvised explosive device was responsible for the suicide bombing that took place. As of today, the Greater Manchester Police have arrested eleven people as a part of their ongoing investigation. Grande has suspended her tour through early June following the attack. Several other artists, including KISS and Blondie, have cancelled or postponed upcoming shows in the UK in the wake of the bombing.
