Ariana Grande White House Performance Rejected Over Donut-Licking Scandal, DNC Hack Reveals

Today, Wikileaks published thousands of leaked emails from the Democratic National Committee. One such thread of hacked DNC emails reveals that the White House nixed an Ariana Grande performance because of her donut-licking controversy (via Gawker). On September 10, 2015, a DNC staffer named Zachary Allen sent an email with the subject “Performer for POTUS” that read, “Can we also vet Arianna Grande?” The resulting in-depth investigation unearthed Grande’s donut-licking incident, which occurred earlier that year, and another infraction involving cursing on social media:

“Ariana Butera-video caught her licking other peoples’ donuts while saying she hates America; Republican Congressman used this video and said it was a double standard that liberals were not upset with her like they are with Trump who criticized Mexicans; cursed out a person on Twitter after that person used an offensive word towards her brother.”

White House employee Bobby Schmuck then vetoed the selection with a resounding “Nope, sorry.” Find the full thread here.
