Aziz Ansari: “The Khan Family Is the Drake to Donald Trump’s Meek Mill”

In June, Aziz Ansari wrote an op-ed for The New York Times called “Why Trump Makes Me Scared for My Family.” In a tweet, he also told the Republican presidential candidate “to go fuck himself.” Last night, Ansari was a guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where he continued to criticize Trump, now for his feud with the family of Capt. Humayun Khan (who died fighting for the U.S. Army in Iraq in 2004). After Khan’s father, Khizr, spoke last week at the Democratic National Convention–calling out Trump for Islamophobic remarks–the candidate made hostile comments about why Khan’s mother, Ghazala, did not speak.

On “Fallon,” Ansari compared the feud to last year’s beef between Drake and Meek Mill. Ansari said the Khan family “are destroying him. The Khan family is the Drake to Donald Trump’s Meek Mill.” Later, he quoted Khizr Khan, who told Trump he has a “black soul,” and said it “was the coldest shit I’ve ever heard.” He joked, that it “was gonna be a line in 2Pac’s ‘Hit ’Em Up,’ but he was like, ‘it’s too mean.’” Watch the segment below, and scroll down for the Khans’ speech at the DNC.
