Beastie Boys’ Mike D Designs $525 “Grown Man” Bags

Beastie Boys’ Mike D has teamed with designer Clare V. for a new range of “grown man” bags, Billboard reports. Priced at $525 (or, for the “grey pebble” edition, $625), the canvas totes are on sale now. “I was showing up at the studio all the time with no bag, being like, ‘I don’t want to have a backpack,’” Mike D told Billboard. “‘I’ve had backpacks my whole life and I’m a grown man now. I should have something better.’” Also on offer are wallets, passport sleeves, a bandana, watches, sunglasses sleeves, T-shirts, and a $55 luggage tag that’s “sure to make your travel bags stand out.” See the full range here.

“I think another collection would be a great excuse to get more crazy with the colors,” Mike D added to Billboard. “Maybe a little shock of neon in there? Like volt green for you people? I’m joking, but I definitely think expanding out from what we’ve done would make sense. I’m in need of a man apron. A very manly apron.”

Back in 2014, Mike D recorded a 10-minute song for a Kenzo runway show.

Correction: An earlier version of the story indicated that the bags cost $550. They actually cost $525.
