Big Sean Tackles Police Brutality, Islamophobia in New “Light” Video: Watch

Big Sean has shared a new video for his song “Light,” which features Jeremih and appears on his latest album I Decided. Directed by Lawrence Lamont, the visual features several young people as victims of violence. Two black teenage boys are shot by police, and a young girl in a hijab is stabbed on the street. Big Sean appears in the clip as an angelic figure. Watch it all happen below. In a statement on Twitter, Big Sean explained that he “paid for a lot of this outta pocket” because he felt strongly about the topic. He writes:

We shot this video a couple months ago and sucks to see these scenes are still consistently playing out in real life…even down to this week. It’s disheartening sometimes to see that not much has changed when it comes to hate, police brutality [and] just overall people losing their lives too early… Rest in peace to all those who have lost life due to senseless actions.
