BitTorrent Shutting Down Streaming Service After Only 3 Months: Report

In April, BitTorrent named two new co-CEOs, Jeremy Johnson and Robert Delamar. In late June, the company launched a free, ad-supported streaming service, BitTorrent Now. Now, BitTorrent has fired both co-CEOs and is shutting down the streaming service, Variety reports, citing “multiple” unnamed sources. A number of employees also reportedly lost their jobs. BitTorrent initially touted Johnson and Delamar’s hiring as part of an emphasis on producing and distributing media.

BitTorrent representatives didn’t immediately respond to Pitchfork’s requests for comment.
