“Broad City”’s Abbi and Ilana to Perform Wayne’s World Live
“Broad City”’s Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer have announced a live reading of the Wayne’s World screenplay to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary. The show takes place June 3 at the interactive comedy and music event Colossal Clusterfest in San Francisco. Glazer will play Wayne—“Party time! Excellent!”—while Jacobson plays Garth. Other participants include Tia Carrere—reprising her role as Cassandra, Wayne’s crush and, later, girlfriend in the original film— Tig Notaro (as Rob Lowe’s character Benjamin Kane), Ron Funches, John Michael Higgins, Moshe Kasher, Janet Varney, and Chris Gethard. The Killer Queens (an all-women Queen tribute band) are set to provide the live soundtrack.
Colossal Clusterfest occurs June 2-4 at San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Other acts include Jerry Seinfeld, Ice Cube, Sarah Silverman & Friends, Tegan and Sara, Hannibal Buress, and Vince Staples.
