Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band were the musical guests on last night’s episode of “Saturday Night Live”, which was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. They performed “Meet Me in the City”, a previously unreleased song included on Springsteen‘s recent box set The Ties That Bind: The River Collection, and “The Ties That Bind”, which was on his 1980 album The River and is also included on the box set.

To close out the show, Springsteen and the Band brought out Paul McCartney to play a rendition of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” with Fey, Poehler, and the “SNL” cast, as Rolling Stone notes. Springsteen also tweeted a photo of himself backstage with McCartney.

Also in the “SNL” episode, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler parodied Taylor Swift’s star-studded “Bad Blood” video. Fey plays “Powderkeg” and Poehler plays “Shortfuse”. They explain that they’re able to have successful careers while managing families because of their “Dope Squad” of nannies, doctors, and friendly neighbors. “SNL”‘s Aidy Bryant drops a guest verse (like Kendrick Lamar in Swift’s video) and Amy Schumer makes an appearance, as well.

Watch Springsteen and the E Street Band’s performances, Paul McCartney’s cameo, the “Bad Blood” parody sketch, and the promo for the episode below.

In addition to the “SNL” performance, Springsteen recently appeared on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”. He and the E Street Band will embark on a North American tour next year.
