Cam’ron Endorses Snitching on Trump: Watch

Cam’ron has long been one of the foremost opponents of snitching, but with the Trump Administration committing hate crimes and dangerous environmental infractions, he has changed his tune. In a recent skit on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” Cam’ron endorses snitching wherever Trump is concerned. “Hi, I’m Cam’ron, and where I’m from—the streets—there’s a saying: ‘Snitches get stitches’,” he opens. “But times change. With Donald Trump as president, y’all snitches have a civic-ass responsibility to tell us what he’s up to.” He encourages bureaucrats and members of the intelligence community to come forward. “Stay snitchin’, America,” he concludes in front of a waving American flag. In a 2007 60 Minutes interview, Cam’ron denounced snitching, famously telling Anderson Cooper, “If I knew a serial killer was living next door to me, I wouldn’t call or tell anyone on them—but I’d probably move.” He described an aversion to the practice as “policing your own community.” After receiving backlash, Cam’ron apologized for the comments, saying, “I’m not saying it’s right, but it’s reality. And it’s not unfounded. There’s a harsh reality around violence and criminal justice in our inner cities.”
