Cass McCombs and the Chapin Sisters: "Protest Song"

Cass McCombs and the Chapin Sisters have teamed up for “Protest Song”, a song written by McCombs for the People’s Climate March, the biggest climate change rally in history. Listen to it above. The march takes place in New York City on September 21, in conjunction with a United Nations summit on the climate crisis

Tonight, McCombs and Abigail Chapin of the Chapin Sisters will lead an event called “Sing the People’s Climate March Songbook”, at which they will teach participants songs for the march. That takes place at 214 Starr Street in Brooklyn, and begins at 7 p.m.

McCombs, the Chapin Sisters, Ida’s Elizabeth Mitchell, Peter, Paul and Mary’s Peter Yarrow, and others will then lead a contingent of marching musicians on September 21. The People’s Climate March Music Bloc will line up at 10 a.m. on Central Park West between 72nd and 73rd. Find more information here.

Correction: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong title for the song.
