Chanel Posts Mysterious Frank Ocean Ads

Last week, Frank Ocean released a new song called “Chanel,” featuring the lyric, “I see both sides like Chanel.” Now, Chanel has posted a pair of mysterious ads repurposing the line as a slogan: “We see both sides like Frank Ocean.” One of the ads promotes the fragrance Chanel No. 5, with text reading “Ocean” and “Land.” Both are tagged with Frank Ocean’s name as well as “#youknowmeandyoudont,” the campaign slogan for Chanel No. 5. Responding to an inquiry from Pitchfork, Chanel clarified that the ads do not signify further collaboration with Ocean. “This is simply our way of acknowledging his nod to Chanel in his latest single,” the brand responded.
