Johnny Jewel of ChromaticsGlass Candy, and Symmetry has written the score for actor Ryan Gosling‘s upcoming directorial debut, Lost River. Now, he’s released two Chromatics tracks from the movie: “Yes (Love Theme From Lost River)” and “Yes (Lullaby From Lost River)”, as well as the Symmetry remix of “Yes (Love Theme From Lost River)”. Listen to the “Love Theme” above, and buy all three tracks here.

Chromatics’ Ruth Radelet, Glass Candy’s Ida No, and Desire’s Megan Louise share vocals on “Yes”.

“Yes (Love Theme From Lost River)” appears in the movie’s trailer, which was released today. You can check that out below. Italians Do It Better will release the soundtrack on March 30; the movie itself is out April 10, after premiering at SXSW. The soundtrack album will feature music from the score, as well as songs from the film by Glass Candy, Chromatics, and Desire, plus songs sung by Saoirse Ronan and Ben Mendelsohn, who star in the film.

Jewel and Gosling first worked together on Drive. In a press release, Jewel said, “When Ryan e-mailed me the script my immediate feeling was that the whole film should be sonically immersed in metal and water. I started sending Ryan music in February of 2013 for his early trips to scout locations. Ryan and I live seven minutes away from one another, so we’d watch the film at his house at night, and then we’d drive over to my house and experiment with musical ideas in my studio.”

Gosling added, “Johnny and I had a strong connection collaborating on the film. Johnny’s music can be both beautiful and aggressive, blurring the line between fantasy and reality, and the romantic haze of his score complements the atmosphere of the town Lost River.”

Dear Tommy, the new album from Chromatics, is due to come out this year.
