Coachella 2017: Watch Lorde Sing Kanye’s “Runaway”
Last night, Lorde performed at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. In a quiet moment before performing “Liability,” she spoke about how the chord progression playing behind her reminded her of Kanye’s “Runaway,” then sang its chorus. Watch it happen below. During the set, she also debuted a new song called “Homemade Dynamite.” Lorde’s new album, Melodrama, is due June 16 via LAVA/Republic. On Friday night, she held a surprise concert—her first live performance since 2014—and debuted new material from the project including the song “Sober.”
