Coachella Promoters Planning Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Rolling Stones Mega-Concert

AEG-owned concert promoter Goldenvoice—the company behind Coachella—are reportedly planning a three-day event at Empire Polo Field in Indio, Calif. that would bring together some of the biggest icons in classic rock, the Los Angeles Times reports. The event will reportedly take place October 7-9 and is set to feature Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, the Who, and Roger Waters. The concert would be the first time all six acts shared a bill and the first time Dylan and McCartney would play the same show (albeit on different nights). Though the show hasn’t been officially announced, the Times reports that negotiations with the artists are underway. Young’s manager Elliot Roberts is quoted as saying, “You won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again.” It will reportedly take place on a single stage with Dylan and the Stones playing the first night, McCartney and Young playing night two, and Rogers and the Who closing the weekend.

Rumors of a “fall Coachella” first started swirling around after Indio mayor Glenn Miller called its arrival “imminent,” according to The Desert Sun. A 2012 report from Development Management Group states that two additional festival weekends could bring in $1.3 million for the city of Indio, bringing the total to $2.7 million when factoring in Coachella and Stagecoach. Goldenvoice recently announced their first-ever New York City festival, Panorama Music Festival, which takes place this summer.
