Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher Perform Gorillaz and Clash Songs at Paul Simonon’s 60th Birthday
Blur‘s Damon Albarn and Oasis‘ Noel Gallagher teamed up tonight to play songs by Gorillaz and the Clash at the birthday party of Clash bassist Paul Simonon, Stereogum reports. Simonon has performed with Gorillaz and the Good, The Bad & The Queen in the past. Chrissie Hynde also joined the group for a few songs.
This is not the first time Albarn and Gallagher have performed together: In 2013, Albarn, Gallagher, Graham Coxon, and Paul Weller performed together at a benefit concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall. They performed Blur’s “Tender” together. Below, watch clips of Gallagher and Albarn playing “DARE” and Chrissie Hynde joining in for the Clash’s “Brand New Cadillac”.
