Dave Grohl Injures Leg After Falling Off Stage in Sweden

The latest in a series of artists injuring themselves after falling off stage, Dave Grohl has injured his leg after falling off stage at a Foo Fighters concert in Gothenburg, Sweden, the BBC reports. The band was reportedly performing the second song in their set at Ullevi stadium when Grohl attempted to jump on a ramp but missed and fell into the security pit. Watch footage of incident below.

Grohl reportedly told the crowd, “I think I just broke my leg. I’m going to go to the hospital. I’m going to fix my leg. And then I’m going to come back. You have my promise right now that the Foo Fighters – we’re going to come back and finish the show.”

Eyewitnesses told the BBC that the band continued playing and entertained the crowd with covers while Grohl sought medical attention. He later reappeared and sat with his leg bandaged while performing “Pretender”. “I may not be able to walk or run but I can still play guitar and scream,” he said. No word yet on whether is leg is actually broken, but the Foo Fighters tweeted a picture of an indisputable break, below. 

Update: A statement from Foo Fighters’ representative confirms that Grohl sustained “at least one fracture,” though it’s noted that he’s still being evaluated. It’s also been confirmed that their performances on June 14 at Pinkpop and June 16 in St. Gallen, Switzerland have been canceled.
