David Bowie Collaborators to Play Birthday Tribute Shows Around the World

On January 8 next year, David Bowie’s collaborators will celebrate what would have been his 70th birthday with a series of tribute shows around the world, the Guardian reports. Set in locations connected to Bowie and his music, the shows will corral “30 core musicians as well as 40 local artists.” At the show in Brixton, London, where proceeds will support the Children & the Arts charity, Gary Oldman will lead a group comprising Bowie band members Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Sterling Campbell, Holly Palmer, and Catherine Russell. Details on other shows will be announced in the coming weeks.

In an interview with BBC 6 Music yesterday, Bowie’s Blackstar art designer, Jonathan Barnbrook, said one more secret, yet to be unearthed, remains hidden in the artwork.
