David Byrne Casts tUne-yArDs’ Jo Lampert as Joan of Arc in New Musical

Last spring, it was revealed that David Byrne had written a new musical about the life of Joan of Arc. Jo Lampert, a touring member of tUnE-yArDs, has now been cast in the musical’s lead role, Broadway World reports. Joan of Arc: Into the Fire was directed by Alex Timbers and choreographed by Steven Hoggett. Featuring “almost all contemporary music with very little spoken text,” the musical is slated to premiere at the Public Theater in New York City on February 14.
