Death Cab for Cutie and the Decemberists Announce Benefit Show

Death Cab for Cutie and the Decemberists are performing a benefit show together in Seattle, with proceeds going towards the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood. Billed as an “acoustic evening,” the concert will take place on June 9 at the Paramount, with Seattle-based singer-songwriter Sera Cahoone set to join. “There are enough stories from this last week alone—the Trump administration’s attempts to curtail first amendment protections and the GOP’s passage of the heartless AHCA—to remind us that organizations like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU need our support now more than ever,” the Decemberists’ Colin Meloy said in a statement. “We Decemberists are proud to do our bit to help those orgs stay funded and active in their communities, both local and nationwide. RESIST!” Death Cab’s last album Kintsugi was released in 2015; the Decemberists issued their Florasongs EP that same year.
