Depeche Mode Announce Live Album and Concert Film Directed by Anton Corbijn

Depeche Mode have announced a live album and concert film documenting their performances in Berlin last fall on the Delta Machine tour. The film was directed by Anton Corbijn, who has worked with the band numerous times in the past. The CD/DVD Live in Berlin will be out November 17 via Columbia

A deluxe edition will include the film, the Live in Berlin audio, and another Corbijn-directed movie, Alive in Berlin, which combines the concert with behind-the-scenes footage and band interviews. Also included in the package is an acoustic session filmed at a Berlin brothel, and a Blu-ray CD of Delta Machine. The live album will be released separately as a double CD, too.

Corbijn released a statement about the movie. “Alive in Berlin is a record of Depeche Mode visiting Berlin for two concerts and the impact it has on fans following the band,” he said. “Berlin has a special place in the hearts of Depeche Mode. Likewise, Depeche Mode has a strong following in the German capital and the film tries to capture the highlights of these concerts as well as that special connection through interviews with fans and bands alike.”
