Detroit Street Named in Honor of Stevie Wonder

A street in Stevie Wonder’s hometown of Detroit has been named in his honor. Yesterday, he attended a ceremony which renamed Milwaukee Avenue to Stevie Wonder Boulevard. He sang a snippet of “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” during his address to a crowd of over 400 people who were present, the Detroit News reports. Below, you can watch a video of Wonder’s question-and-answer session, where he reflected on the street naming and his childhood in Detroit. 

Earlier this week, Stevie Wonder released a new video for “Faith,” his collaboration with Ariana Grande. Earlier this year, Common teamed up with Stevie Wonder for the title track of his latest album, Black America Again.
