Discogs Launching New Gear Marketplace

Discogs Launching New Gear Marketplace

Last year, Discogs launched a gear database called Georogs. Next month, the Gearogs marketplace opens up, as The Vinyl Factory points out. CEO and founder Kevin Lewandowski revealed the news in an interview with Thump. According to the website, Gearogs’ goal is “to be the largest database of audio equipment on the planet.” The mission statement continues, “With your help we’ll list every turntable, audio recorder, amplifier, effects pedal, microphone, and every other piece of audio gear conceived. Any equipment that records, amplifies, mixes, or reproduces audio, belongs here.” Currently, there are over 10,000 items listed on the site, including synthesizers, headphones, speakers, and more. Other Discogs databases include Bibliogs, Comicogs, and Filmogs; they are all in beta.
