DJ Quik Announces New Album The Midnight Life, Shares "That Getter"

On October 14, DJ Quik will return with the follow-up to his great 2011 LP The Book of David. The new one’s called The Midnight Life, and it’s getting released via his Mad Science imprint. That’s “That Getter” above, and it features Quik’s son David Blake.

The album also features Dom Kennedy, Mack 10, Joi, Bishop Lamont, Tay F 3rd, Suga Free, Tweed Cadillac, and Rob “Fonksta” Bacon. The second single, “Pet Sematary”, is out September 30.

“Musically, this album is a bulls-eye for me,” Quik said in a statement. “Can’t nobody tell me different because I’ve seen it give people chills. I’ve seen it make people happy, smile, drink, party, dance, ask for it on repeat. This album is for people who like to have fun.”
