Fabric Announces Reopening Weekend

London nightclub Fabric will reopen on Friday, January 6 following the successful renegotiation of its license last month. The reopening weekend will feature “a host of unannounced special guests from our history and our future,” according to a press release. In addition to the guests, the Saturday will include Craig Richards and Terry Francis sets, with residents Jacob Husley and Peter Pixzel playing on the Sunday. “We hope you can join us for what will be a cherished moment in our history,” the club writes.

Following Fabric’s closure, the club began the #saveourculture campaign to help fund the planned appeal. Some of the results of the campaign included a 110-track compilation called #savefabric and an exhibition of works from the club’s roster of photographers. In October, a man attempted a 24-hour dance marathon to raise funds for the club. As of November, the fund had reached more than £325,000 ($400,000). In November, the club, police, and Islington Council made an out-of-court agreement on new measures, including a security overhaul, lifetime bans for anyone caught seeking drugs, ID scanners on the door, and a raise on the minimum age of entry to 19.
