Fabric Nightclub Launches #SaveFabric Campaign to Prevent Closure

Earlier this month, London nightclub Fabric closed voluntarily following the deaths of two 18-year-old concertgoers due to drug overdoses over the past nine weeks. The club’s license was then suspended, and put up for review. (A hearing will be held by the Islington Borough Council on September 6.) Now, #savefabric—a campaign to prevent the club from permanent closure—has been launchd by Fabric and the Night Time Industries Association. You can find a petition to save the club here, and find more information here.

In a press release, Fabric co-founder Cameron Leslie shared a statement about the campaign:

As you know by now fabric is facing the very real threat of closure on Sept 6th. If fabric’s licence is revoked or onerous conditions placed upon it that make it impossible to operate the London will lose yet another venue. However, stringent the operating policies and procedures, venues are currently too far downstream on the problems and risks to avoid the inevitable.

We are asking that the Police work with us as they did for such a long time to take the challenges we all face head on. Please take a moment to sign the petition on the link below and share with friends, family and fans, hopefully the London Borough of Islington and the Mayor will take note.
