Fleet Foxes Announce First U.S. Show in 6 Years

Fleet Foxes have announced their first U.S. show since 2011. This July, they’ll perform at Newport Folk Festival, which runs from the 28th to the 30th at Fort Adams State Park in Rhode Island. They will headline the first day. The concert follows shows at Vida FestivalBilbao BBK Live, Iveagh Gardens (Dublin), and Piazza Castello in Turin, which Robin Pecknold announced yesterday on his Instagram. See Fleet Foxes’ latest tour schedule below.

Pecknold continues to tease Fleet Foxes’ Helplessness Blues follow-up. In November, he said the album is “alllllmost done,” and later revealed it’s 11 tracks and “55ish minutes” with “some folk-soul songs.” Yesterday, he commented on Instagram, “songs soon!” He also answered a fan who asked, “Do [Fleet Foxes] albums come naturally or is it tough work?” Pecknold said: “I think my standards just became very particular which makes it hard. Beautiful / not pastiche / not overwrought / surprising / not stock this or that genre / blah blah blah. But I’m writing more music now with less pressure and it’s going fast.” See his latest posts below.
