Flight of the Conchords Announce Tour

Earlier this month, New Zealand musical comedy duo Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, aka Flight of the Conchords, announced that they’d be playing the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, igniting rumors of a full-fledged tour. Today, the duo have confirmed a full North American trek, which they’ve dubbed the “Flight of the Conchords sing Flight of the Conchords Tour.” What’s more, they’ll be road-testing new material. “I’m thrilled to get back on the road with over half the original band,” McKenzie joked in a press release. He and Clement have yet to release a follow-up to 2009′s I Told You I Was Freaky, which was released just before the group first called it quits. In 2012, Flight of the Conchords put out a charity single, “Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That),” and embarked on their first Australian tour. Last year, the The Guardian that they were working on a musical film; Clement told the publication that the project was still “a couple years away, at least.”
Flight of the Conchords’ upcoming tour is presented in partnership with Global Citizen, a nonprofit devoted to fighting global poverty. The organization will offer two tickets to each stop on the trek.
