Flying Lotus Expanding Grand Theft Auto V Radio Station With New DOOM Track, Krayzie Bone Collaboration

Flying Lotus hosted a radio station called FlyLo FM in last year’s blockbuster Grand Theft Auto V video game. The station included music from FlyLo and artists such as Aphex Twin, Tyler, the Creator, Clams Casino, Outkast, and Hudson Mohawke. Yesterday, Flying Lotus announced that he’s expanded on FlyLo FM for the game’s forthcoming reissue on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One versions are out November 18, while the PC version is out January 27.

The upgraded version of FlyLo FM will include over a half hour more music, as well as tracks exclusive to the game. Flying Lotus and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony‘s Krayzie Bone teamed up for one new song, while Doom contributed another.

In a live stream yesterday, Flying Lotus talked about his new contributions (around the 37:40 mark). “I was really proud of the first bit of it,” he said, “but I still felt there was so much more to say, though, so I’m really excited about that.” As he should: How does one adequately explain the thrill of being chased by the police while blaring “Windowlicker”?

The new versions of the game will feature 100-plus new songs in the game’s 17 radio stations.
