Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Dizzee Rascal Discuss Video Game Music in Documentary

Diggin’ in the Carts is a Red Bull Music Academy documentary series which profiles the composers who created some of the most influential music of all time: Japanese video game music. The latest episode (three of six) spends time with composers from the 16-bit era of games, focusing on Yoko Shimomura’s work on Street Fighter II.

Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and Dizzee Rascal are also interviewed to discuss the lasting impact of that game’s music. The whole video’s worth watching if only to hear Thundercat sing Blanka’s theme from memory.
