Footage Surfaces of Morrissey's Alleged Airport Security “Sexual Assault"

This July, Morrissey said he’d been sexually assaulted by airport staff during a pat-down at San Francisco International Airport. The TSA denied wrongdoing, citing CCTV footage that apparently showed “the supervised officer followed standard operating procedures.” Morrissey later reiterated his claim in an interview with Larry King. Now, Gawker has obtained the CCTV footage. You can watch it on their website

In his original blog post, Morrissey claimed the officer, who was later identified as the General Manager On Duty, “stopped me, crouched before me and groped my penis and testicles.” He then relays an exchange (not captured in Gawker’s CCTV footage) in which the officer responds to three claims of sexual assault by repeating, “That’s just your opinion.”

Morrisey wrote:

Apart from “that’s just your opinion”, he would not comment, even though, since the penis and testicles were mine and no one else’s, then my opinion must surely have some meaning. But, of course, what the airport security officer was saying was: your opinion will never count in the eyes of the law. The words “that’s just your opinion” volunteered themselves from this ‘officer’s’ mouth before he had even heard the question. He knew he could be confronted, but he also knew that he could never be challenged (even though the entire incident is most certainly on CCTV camera).

After the TSA’s refutation, Morrissey discussed the incident on “Larry King Now”. As well as repeating the earlier claims, he added that the officer “went straight for my private bits, and then he put his finger down my rear cleavage.”

Since the security guard’s body obscures what exactly his hands are touching, the footage is inconclusive.
