Four Tet Calls SoundCloud “A Total Slice of Shit”

Four Tet announced last night that he was planning to put out some new music. Then, he tweeted about some technical difficulties he’d run into with SoundCloud. Tonight, that song finally got posted. It’s his remix of Tangents‘ “Jindabyne”—a track that’s set to appear on the band’s upcoming album Stateless (out July  8 via Temporary Residence). The song’s SoundCloud URL contains this message: “yo four tet automatic content protection system detected one tracks contain copyrighted content.” When the song went up on SoundCloud, Kieran Hebden tweeted his dissatisfaction with the service. “SoundCloud is a total slice of shit right now,” he wrote. Listen to the song and find his tweets below.

.@SoundCloud is adding content to my page against my wishes so they can monetize. I don’t get to curate my own account that I pay for now.
