Four Tet, Emanative Team Up on "Makondi" Cover

Nick Woodmansey makes music under the name Emanative. He’s enlisted Four Tet (aka Kieran Hebden) on a cover of “Makondi”, originally performed by Don Cherry and Ed Blackwell. Hebden contributes thumb piano.

“Makondi” appears on Emanative’s forthcoming LP The Light Years of Darkness. The album will be released by the Steve Reid Foundation, a charity that supports musicians. Hebden collaborated with the charity’s namesake, the late percussionist Steve Reid, on multiple releases, including 2008′s NYC LP.
