French Touch Pioneer Étienne de Crécy to Release Super Discount 3, Looks Back on Career in New Doc

French touch pioneer Étienne de Crécy has brought back his Super Discount project following a long break. A decade after putting out the second volume, he’ll release Super Discount 3 January 19 via Ultra Music. It features contributions from Cults’ Madeline Follin, De La Soul’s Pos and Dave, Alex Gopher, Kilo Kish, and others. Check out the track list below.

To accompany the release, writer/DJ Bill Brewster (Last Night a DJ Saved My Life) and director Dimitri Pailhe have made a short documentary about de Crécy’s career and the recent history of dance music in France. In addition to interviews with de Crécy, it also features Alex Gopher, Philippe Zdar, and other collaborators. They discuss the genesis, recording, and design of the Super Discount releases and the origin of the term “French Touch”, among other commentary on the electronic music scene in the 90s.
