Future Islands' Sam Herring Teams With Madlib for Rap Project Trouble Knows Me, Shares Track

Future Islands‘ Sam Herring has dabbled in rap in the past, releasing tracks under the MC name Hemlock Ernst. Now, he’s got a new project called Trouble Knows Me and will release a self-titled 12″ EP produced by Madlib on September 1 via Madlib Invazion. Listen to the title track above.

Madlib is performing with Freddie Gibbs at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on Sunday, July 19. Tonight, Madlib is also performing at the Mid in Chicago. 150 copies of the 12″, featuring covers designed by Gustavo Eandi and Jeff Jank, will be live screen-printed and sold at the Mid performance. 150 copies will also be available at the Rappcats popup shop taking place from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 at 5636 York Blvd. in Los Angeles.

The EP consists of three vocal tracks plus beats and instrumentals:
