Google Invents A.I. That Plays Piano With You

Google has taught a computer how to play piano. The tech giant has made public a new artificial intelligence experiment that allows users to duet with a computer (as Business Insider points out). The technology, called A.I. Duet, has been programmed with many melodies that are stored in its neural networks. When the user plays notes on an online keyboard, the A.I. responds with its own corresponding set of notes, based on the various melodies it has learned—not based on a specific set of code. Last year, Google shared a machine-generated track that was made using Magenta technology. Similarly in 2016, Sony unveiled a pair of songs composed through A.I.
