As Gorillaz prepare their followup to 2011 album The Fall, Jamie Hewlett, the animated group’s co-founder, has been working on a project of his own. This November at London’s Saatchi Gallery, the Tank Girl artist will host his first ever art exhibition. It’s called “The Suggestionists”, and you can see the poster below.
According to a press release, the fine art exhibition comprises three bodies of work: “Tarot” (“Hewlett’s idiosyncratic, breathtaking interpretation of the world of tarotica”), “Honey” (a “frisky homage to the exploitation movies of the 60s and 70s”), and “Pines”, featuring “extraordinarily detailed illustrations of trees Hewlett observed while in the south of France.”
The exhibition runs from November 18–December 2. Visit Hewlett’s website for pre-exhibition prints and previews.
