Grammy Nominations Announced: Kendrick Lamar, the Weeknd, D'Angelo, Courtney Barnett, Alabama Shakes, and More

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards take place on February 15. They’ll be broadcast live from the Staples Center in L.A. on CBS. This morning, the nominees have been announced. Kendrick Lamar is nominated 11 times in nine categories. The Weeknd is up for seven Grammys, Drake is up for five, Alabama Shakes and Florence and the Machine are up for four, and Kanye West, D’Angelo, and Diplo are up for three.

The nominees for Record of the Year are D’Angelo’s “Really Love”, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk”, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, and the Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”.

The nominees for Song of the Year are Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Wiz Khalifa, Ed Sheeran, and Little Big Town.

The nominees for Album of the Year are Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, Taylor Swift’s 1989, Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color, Chris Stapleton’s Traveller, and the Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness.

The nominees for Best New Artist are Courtney Barnett, James Bay, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, and Meghan Trainor.

Alabama Shakes, Björk, My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, and Wilco are up for Best Alternative Album.

Jamie xx, Caribou, Chemical Brothers, Disclosure, and Skrillex & Diplo are up for Best Dance/Electronic Album. 

J. Cole, Dr. Dre, Drake, Kendrick, and Nicki Minaj are up for Best Rap Album.

Fetty Wap, Flying Lotus, Miguel, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, the Internet, Jazmine Sullivan, and Jeremih are also up for Grammys.
