Grammys 2017: Beyoncé, Adele, Drake, Chance, Kanye, Rihanna Lead Nominees

The nominees for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards—which will air February 12 on CBS—have been announced. Adele and Beyoncé lead with their respective nominations for Album, Song, and Record of the Year. Adele is nominated five times while Beyoncé walks away with nine nominations. Find the full list of nominees here.

Chance the Rapper is nominated seven times, including for Best New Artist. He is also up for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance (“No Problem”). He’s competing against himself three times in Best Rap Song (for “No Problem,” his featured verse on Kanye’s “Ultralight Beam,” and as a listed writer on Kanye’s “Famous”).

Kanye is up for five awards. He’s competing against himself in three of those categories, with both “Famous” and “Ultralight Beam” getting nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance. Meanwhile, Schoolboy Q’s “THat Part” and Drake’s “Pop Style” are up for Best Rap Performance—both songs feature Kanye. The Life of Pablo is also up for Best Rap Album, while Kanye’s contribution to Drake’s VIEWS earns him an Album of the Year nomination. 

Rihanna has eight nominations total. “Work” got a Record of the Year nod, as well as a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” is also nominated for Best R&B Song, while Anti is up for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Drake also has eight nominations total, including VIEWS’ nomination for Album of the Year and “Work” for Record of the Year. Drake also picked up nominations for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song (“Hotline Bling”), and Best Rap Performance (“Pop Style”). Drake also appears as a nominee for Best R&B Song for PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Come See Me.”

Sturgill Simpson was nominated twice, including an Album of the Year nod. David Bowie was nominated five times. Anderson .Paak (a Best New Artist nominee), Radiohead, and Bon Iver were all nominated twice.

The nominees for Best Alternative Music Album are Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Bon Iver, David Bowie, and Iggy Pop. 

The nominees for Best Rap Album are Chance the Rapper, De La Soul, DJ Khaled, Drake, Schoolboy Q, and Kanye West.

Flume, Tycho, Underworld, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Louie Vega are all up for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Flume is also up for Best Dance Recording.

Parquet Courts picked up a nomination for Best Recording Package. Solange was nominated for Best R&B Performance. Jamie xx’s “Gosh” is up for Best Music Video (against “Formation”). Both volumes of the “Stranger Things” soundtrack are up for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Also worth noting—as promised, Frank Ocean isn’t up for any awards.
