Guided By Voices Are Back in Action
In 2014, Guided By Voices called it quits (again). This year, they’re back… in some form. The Calgary music festival Sled Island, which takes place June 22-26, has announced that GBV is joining this year’s lineup. A new Guided by Voices album is also in the works, but Pollard plays all the instruments on it. Update (02/09, 5:02 p.m.): According to the band, the touring lineup will comprise Pollard, Bobby Bare Jr., Kevin March, Nick Mitchell, and Mark Shue.
In addition, there’s another Pollard solo album coming out—it’s called Of Course You Are and it’s due March 4 via Fire. Listen to the album track “My Daughter Yes She Knows” below.
And the new GBV live line-up is: Robert Pollard with Bobby Bare Jr. (guitar), Kevin March (drums), Nick Mitchell (guitar), Mark Shue (bass)
